After a restless and windy night camped among the sand dunes of Fraser Island I hiked down to this isolated stretch of the coastline. The day’s first rays cast their glow onto the gently breaking surf, and I composed this evocative image, with the lonely wind swept pandanus in the foreground reaching out as if in a gesture of welcome to the dawn.
