Monument Valley, Arizona
Monument Valley is such special place already – but I was chasing an epic image that had the lot. This would only take one thing – time. And I wasn’t leaving until I felt I had it right. I had four days in a row of clear autumn skies and was starting to freak. I had shot every sunrise and sunset, and felt the shots were ordinary. Finally, on day five, my patience was rewarded. I had heard a change in the weather was on the way, and as I drove to the park in twilight, I noticed mist on my windscreen. This was a good sign. As I watched the swirling clouds in awe, I was stunned when I loaded the camera and a huge storm broke loose. I was full of adrenaline and pulled roll after roll through the camera. I chose this frame which said it all – Epic.
