In summer in San Francisco, the temperature inversion causes the fog to roll in relentlessly across the Bay. Although this is a much photographed scene, often times there’s too much mist obscuring the city, rendering the image completely grey. On this morning though it was perfect - the fog stopped in it’s tracks just at the bridge as if held back by some unseen hand. As the sun rose in the streaky sky and cast it’s magnificent glow, the distant peaks of the city pierced its cloak of fog. At the perfect moment, out of the gloom a tug appeared and passed its way under the bridge into my shot.
