The Flatiron Building is one of my favourite buildings to shoot in New York. I felt like I nailed it from every perspective on the ground. I needed a new angle and I knew it was going to be a challenge. I almost wanted the feeling like I was in a helicopter. That meant a radical rooftop. I felt like an eagle looking down on the city. The location was amazing. I used a 300mm lens to zoom in to this iconic building. Overcast skies provided natural diffusion – a soft light to add a special mood to the scene. I chose B&W to provide that classic old school charm. Its timeless quality adds the strength and longevity to this image that I was striving for.
